1. My child will be 5 in May, can he play T-Ball?
1. Little League rules state that a player's age as ofAugust 31st of that year, is their League Age. A player must be League Age 5to play in Pleasanton Little League.

2. What if my 5 year old is a great player, can he/she play in Farm level?
2. Little League rules state that if a league has T-ball available, players must play T-ball.

3. My 6 year old has never played baseball before, what level should he/she be at?
3. T-ball is a great level for 5 and 6 year olds to start and learn about baseball!

4. What if my 6 year old played T-ball last season when he was 5, can he/she play Farm?
4. Yes. But, if your player needs a tee to hit a ball, another year of T-ball might be better for his/her confidence.

5. When can my child play Farm level?
5. Your child can play Farm when they are 6 or 7, but remember, Farm is all coach pitch.

6. What is Single A level - how is that different than Farm?
6. Single A is our first level of kid pitch and our lastnon competitive level. Players pitch from the front of the pitching mound.Similar to Farm, no wins or losses are recorded.

7. My son wants to play with his friends, can he/she be on a team with them?
7. Level Directors will make every effort to form teams with buddies from school in T-ball through Single A. Once a player is of draft age and are drafted into AA and above, the coach drafts players for their team. No buddy requests are honored in AA or above.

8. Can I request a coach for my child?
8. If your child is going to play at the coaches' child's level, then please put it in the comment section when registering. It's not a guarantee, but efforts will be made in T-ball through Single A.

9. My kid played Single A last season, does he automatically move to AA?
9. For the AA levels and higher, evaluations are performed and players are draftedon teams by the team's Managers. Not all players who attend evaluations for AA will be drafted. If your child isn't drafted they will be offered to play in the Single A division. In order for your player to be considered for AA, they must attend evaluations which happen in early December.

10. What are evaluations and why does my child need to be registered?
10. Evaluations are required in order to be drafted. A player can't be drafted, unless he is registered. Evaluations are performed prior to the draft so that coaches can see the potential players for each level. The draft begins for Majors for the 11 and 12's. After those teams are formed, the AAA draft is completed, and after that, teams are formed for AA. There may be some players that need another year at Single A level and will not be drafted into AA. Communication about Evaluations will begin in mid-November.

11. What if my 12 year old doesn’t want to play in Majors, can he/she stay in AAA?
11. Possibly, a waiver will need to be filled out requesting your child play in AAA.The PLL President will bring the waiver to the D57 President, who must approve it. If the waiver is approved, the player is not allowed to pitch in AAA.

12. When is the cutoff for registration?
12. For levels AA through Majors, it's before tryouts. We need to have players interested in playing in AA, AAA, and Majors registered by then so we can get Evaluations underway. For levels T-Ball, Farm, and Single A, the deadline will be mid-February. However, waiting this long does not guarantee playing with friends from school or a coach. We advise you to sign up by the end of December to have a better chance of playing with friends.

13. When will my child hear what team he/she is on?
13. For levels that draft (AA, AAA, and Majors), you will hear from your coach after the draft in mid-January. Teams begin being formed in late January for T-ball, Farm, and Single A. So your child, if registered, will be placed on a team by the end of January and you will be contacted shortly thereafter.
14. Once practices start in late January or early February, when will the season start?
14. Opening Day is always on Saturday in early March. T-ball has games on Saturday only, Farm has games on Saturday and occassionally a game during the week. All other levels will have games during the week and on Saturday. In the Majors level, there are often more than 2 games a week - one Saturday, 2 weekday games. Regular season and playoffs are finished prior to the last day of school for PUSD. Playoffs happen in early June for the upper divisions.

15. How can we as parents get involved?
15. We have many opportunities at the team and league level. If you have coaching experience or a desire to coach, we need you! Please indicate your desire to coach when registering. Once teams are formed, coaches will need help with several administrative duties.
We'll have several opportunities to volunteer during Opening Day, our Photo Day and Fundraising events, and other times during the season.
